Terms of service
Last updated 28 October 2026
These terms apply to every account and service at Skylit Hosting. We kept them short. If something here conflicts with Dutch or EU consumer law, that law wins.
1. Who we are
- Company
- Skylit Hosting, [legal entity and legal form]
- Address
- [street and number], [postcode and city], the Netherlands
- KvK
- [KvK number]
- VAT ID
- [VAT ID]
- support@skylithosting.com
2. Your account
- You must be 16 or older to create an account. To order a paid service you must be 18, or have permission from a parent or guardian.
- Give correct details. Invoices are made out to the name and address in your account.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
3. Ordering and prices
- The order page shows the full price, including setup fees, before you pay. For consumers, prices include VAT.
- An order becomes a contract once we have received payment. We then set up your service, usually automatically.
- If we change the price of a plan you already have, we email you at least 30 days before your next renewal. You can cancel before the new price applies.
4. Billing and renewal
- Services renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly, or the period you chose) until you cancel.
- We send the renewal invoice 7 days before the period ends.
- If an invoice is 3 days overdue we suspend the service. Pay it and the service starts again automatically.
- If an invoice is 14 days overdue we end the service and delete its data. Make your own backups of anything important.
5. Cancelling
You can cancel any time in the client area, without contacting us. The service keeps running until the end of the period you already paid for and is then removed, along with its data. You can undo the cancellation until that date. Refunds are covered in the refund policy, including your 14-day right of withdrawal.
6. Fair use
Don't use our services for anything illegal or harmful. In particular, don't:
- host content that is illegal in the Netherlands, or that infringes someone else's copyright;
- attack other systems (DDoS, scanning, hacking) or send spam or phishing;
- run software that seriously disrupts other customers on shared hardware.
If you break these rules we may suspend the service. Where possible we contact you first and give you a chance to fix it. In serious cases, or when the law requires it, we act straight away.
7. Availability and backups
We work hard to keep everything online, but we can't promise that a service will never go down. Maintenance that we plan ahead is announced in advance. Any backups we make are a safety net, not a guarantee; keep your own copy of data you can't afford to lose.
8. Liability
Our liability is limited to direct damage and to at most the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the damage happened. We are not liable for lost profit or lost data. These limits don't apply if we caused the damage on purpose or through gross negligence, or where the law doesn't allow them.
9. Your data
How we handle personal data is in the privacy policy. Data on your servers stays yours.
10. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we email you at least 30 days before. If you don't agree, you can cancel before the change applies.
11. Complaints and law
Email complaints to support@skylithosting.com. We reply within 14 days. Dutch law applies. Consumers keep the protection of the law of the country where they live.
